Arian Systems Inc. / Techconsultant.ca is seeking a Project Engineer level 3 for a major Oil and Gas client.

Role Summary:
Design, implement, and manage our robust and scalable VMware-based virtualization infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance for critical business applications.

Key Duties:

Infrastructure Management: Administer, maintain, and optimize the entire VMware vSphere environment, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, and vSAN.
Design & Implementation: Lead the planning and execution of new virtualization solutions, upgrades, and migrations.
Performance & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system health, perform root cause analysis for incidents, and resolve complex performance and availability issues.
Security & Compliance: Harden the virtual environment in accordance with security best practices and ensure compliance with internal policies.
Automation & Efficiency: Utilize scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerCLI) to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
Disaster Recovery: Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the virtual infrastructure.
Collaboration & Support: Serve as a technical escalation point and collaborate with other IT teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Must-Have Qualifications:

Proven hands-on experience administering enterprise VMware vSphere environments.
Strong knowledge of vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, DRS, and HA.
Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with one or more scripting languages (e.g., PowerCLI, Python, Bash).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) certification.
Experience with other VMware products (NSX, Horizon, Aria Suite).
Knowledge of hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with VMware.
Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
